Suzy Swearingen’s Personal Biography
Suzy Swearingen is a professional dance instructor with several classes located in south eastern Wisconsin. Suzy first fell in love with belly dancing March of 2006 when she attended her first dance class. This class she fell in love with was a Wanting to give all women the healing tools of holistic dance, Suzy Swearingen pursued her D. F. T. S. certification in the Masters method of Dance for the Soul, a 15-month extensive holistic program approved by the Educational Approval Board of Wisconsin. Suzy is now one of only three Belly dance instructors in Expanding on her mission to help others through dance Suzy started her own company SpiritFilledDancerTM in January of 2009 Mission Statement. Suzy is a full time Instructor of Middle Eastern Belly Dance, She believes any one can dance if you desire to, no matter your age, ability, or disabilities. Suzy's Belly Dance Style is a unique blend of Turkish, American Cabaret, Masters MethodTM D.F.T.S, and influenced more recently by Tribal, and Belly Dance for fun and FitnessTM. To learn more about theses styles see above link. Suzy teaches both a weekly pregnancy class and several non-pregnancy classes, all while she is currently pregnant with her third boy. Suzy plans to dance and teach until “baby boy number three” is in her arms, just as she did in her first two pregnancies and labors (2006 & 2009).
Suzy used belly dance in the Hospital delivery room and depended on the shimmy almost as much as she depended on her loving and supportive husband Brad. Suzy uses Belly Dance as her greatest tool and weapon to get back in to shape post pregnancies too.
Future Plans are to continue Teaching D. F. T. S. and Turkish Belly Dance, bringing the joy of belly dance to all, Study Dietetics and nutrition at Mount Mary College, and spend time with family. Yet, Suzy’s next big venture to embark upon is raising her three boys into Strong virtuous men all while she continues to educate others on holistic belly dance and the benefits of belly dance and other safe and effective forms of fitness. Suzy spends free time with her family and friends; Watching old movies, going on adventures, cooking organically, studying, researching, reading historical non-fiction, volunteering in both the church and in the community, and dancing! |
